DriftKid retires from WTAC with engine Failure.

.Unfortunately the DriftKid has had to retire from WTAC Tectaloy International Drift Challenge.

We found the car had been running on 7 cyl under load since we got to WTAC & only became aware of the issue after today's demo.
We rectified the issue (plug lead) & went out for practice before qualifying with a very healthy amount of grunt. In practice the car was performing better than it had all weekend & we were looking forward to a great qualifying position.
With the first part of qualifying being a single run Nick gave it a red hot go only to have the car suffer major power loss half way through the run.
After inspection in the pits we found we had more than likely spun a bearing in the motor & could not continue the two battles to finish the qualifying criteria.
Qualifying in 24th position unfortunately did not get us to the main game tomorrow night & we have made the decision to retire & just support our Aussie team mates as they fight to take the win from the Kiwi's & the Japanese.
It was an awesome event and the Aussie Drift Ute was a huge crowd pleaser. It was a real shame that after 3 and a half years of competitions, WTAC was the only event we were unable to compete in due to engine failure.

DriftKid said " it was terrific to be able to do a demo with the New Zealand Red Bull and the Japanese competitors" and was pleased that his fellow Team mate Tony Harrison took 2nd place.
