DriftKid WINS Pro All Stars in NSW
A very expensive weekend but was definitely worth it. Driftkid owned the track from the moment he arrived, rain and all. As wet as it was on Friday practice, Nick just blitzed it. Saturday looked like it was going to rain all day but did clear halfway through the day but had a breeze that cut straight through you. Qualifying started and the Driftkid was coming up trumps with the action and heading for first qualifier, then in the last heat, Nick threw a power steering belt. With no spare , Driftkid was forced to go out and drift at 160 k's p/h with no power steering and it showed it was tough. But Nick ended the day with 7th qualifier and Martin got a new belt. Not a great start to Sunday either with the first few laps in, Nick came in with a busted diff, and no spare diff was available from A1 Nissan before we left. But again, Martin and Craig saved the day with Martin buying a diff and Craig , Nick and Rick working their tails off to get the old diff out and the new one in..1:15 hours later and he was back out on track thanks to Craig's hard and heavy lifting work. With only 2 hot laps of practice before the Pro comp, Nick nailed the session winning every knock out battle with some great drivers - Fernando - Gav Edwards - weisel. So Driftkid takes 1st place and was a real buzz for the Team...with all the excitement of the Win, we packed up ready to head back to Brisbane and Nick decided 1 more lap and BANG---the engine blew and left a trail or engine oil all over the track...the very last event for the pro tour this year and the RB25 engine that has been so loyal to our team for the past 18 months decided to retire right at the perfect time if it was ever going to happen.
