2nd Place in the Qld Raceway Short track Round 1

DriftKid had a great start to the Qld Raceway short track series with a 2nd place for the 1st round.
With Nick and Rob Whyte as the 1st battle off the rank for the night (a hat draw ?)  Nick won and went through the night and ended up being the last battle of the night with a fight for first or second place.
As this was Nick's second competition in the new Aussie V8 Ute, it was amazing to watch this kid throw the long Ute so close to the concrete barriers with only inches to spare.  When talking with Nick he said "he was puckering up" because it was so close, and to judge the back end of the Ute to the wall was certainly a challenge.
This track looked quite easy, but in the Driver briefing, it became apparent that it was going to be a very technical track with clipping points being the main factor into the judges criteria.
With the last battle, Nick lost due to proximity on the chase run.
It was a spectator filled event and had lots of giveaways from Cartel and the like.
Worth telling your friends about and making the drive to the next round.  We will give you an update on dates when available.
