Round 1 of The Australia Drifting Grand Prix (ADGP) was held over the weekend at Calder Park in Victoria
With the Team Qld truck breaking down on the way to Victoria it was a mad rush to unload the cars on Saturday morning ready for a full day of practice
We had a steering issue on Saturday & had to change the steering rack ready for Sundays Qualifying
Qualifying went great & Nick Qualified 4th in a field of talented Drivers from around Australia & some wicked builds in the cars they brought with them.
Top 32 Nick had to battle the twin turbo V8 of Adam Monk from W.A.
Nick's lead was flawless & took the advantage going into run number 2. On Adam's lead he under steered into the first turn loosing a considerable amount of speed leaving Nick no where to go but into the back of Adam's Car & handing the win to Nick.
Top 16 was against Brent Gordon in his SuperCharged V8 S15 also from W.A
Nick again put down a flawless run on his lead giving him the Advantage going into run number 2.
Unfortunately on Nicks chase he got a little to close & on the last turn had to pull out of the drift or make hard contact with Brent.
This will put Nick in 9th for the Event & will strive even harder to get the points in the next round.
