DriftKid takes 2nd Place in
King of Drift 2010
But if it was not for the Pit crew, then DriftKid would not have even been able to compete. Just after practise, DriftKid comes into the pit saying he thinks his gear box was shot. Turns out the right drive shaft had split in half and with only 20 minutes before qualifying was about to start. No spare drive shaft in hand and a quick dart through pit lane to see if anyone had one, Nizpro comes to the rescue with one of their cars that had damaged the gear box and knocked them out of the qualifies. Whilst their skyline was on their trailer all packed up ready to go, our fantastic pit crew - Craig, Brian and Tom rushed around to take out the drive shaft in the nizpro skyline and put it in the DriftKid's skyline. 20 minutes later with the pit crew covered in grease, Pit crew leader Craig releases the skyline on to the track with the qualifies already on their way and the DriftKid makes it to the track in the nic of time. Well done Craig, I am sure you come to watch as the DriftKid's uncle, but there is never a dull moment in the drifting world and Craig seems to work on the car more then he gets to watch his nephew drift... DriftKid sets out to slide but the whole time concerned the other drive shaft will break as well. With team Manager Martin telling the DriftKid to just trash it, we could tell the DriftKid was not confident to put the skyline through it's normal paces and drifted Conservativly around the track. DriftKid qualified 2nd and Placed 2nd. He also won the Grudge match of Race your mate. This hands up is for the Pit Crew Craig, Brian and Tom and for the Team Manager Martin whom goes all out to make the Driftkid the best he can be.
